About Us
Dawn Clarkson has a background in banking and has been a partner in a successful construction company. A qualified accountant, she is now managing Director of Dawn Clarkson Associates, established in 2004, based in Thornborough Hall, Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
Dawn provides business mentoring to North Yorkshire companies through Business Link. She also works
as a consultant for the Association of Accounting Technicians, reviewing best practice and legal compliance in member practices.
In 2009, DCA welcomed the arrival of
Phil Grange as an accountant.
With a background in high street retail management and an accountant for Sage (UK) Ltd,
Phil brings a wealth of experience to the practice.

Cathy Grimmer, our Associate Chartered Tax Advisor, has more than 25 years experience in tax. In addition to having worked for some of the best accountancy firms in the UK, Cathy was Director of Tax for British Medical Association Professional Services (BMAPS). Cathy was also responsible for tax compliance and advisory services in the Yorkshire Office of a top 20 accountancy firm, undertaking all areas of taxation advice with particular emphasis on tax planning and property matters. She has presented numerous seminars on a variety of taxation issues as well as writing articles for various publications. Cathy is
known for her ability to provide practical solutions to complex tax technical issues and to explain them in layman’s terms.
